Days Gone for PC is an action, adventure, survival horror game set in a dystopian future in the state of Oregon. The game begins two years after the start of a global pandemic that killed most people and turned many of the rest into Freakers, which are mindless and constantly evolving nocturnal proto-zombies throughout the game, which is an excellent way to prevent the player from becoming complacent.
About the Game
The game is played from a third-person perspective, taking on the persona of Deacon St. John. Deacon is on a mission to find his wife, last seen when she was evacuated to a camp overrun by Freakers. However, Deacon has heard a rumor that his wife's political influence might have been enough to get her to an even safer place, and he hopes that this is what happened and that he can find her again soon.
The open-world game offers many possibilities for exploration and you can use all sorts of things to defend yourself: from melee weapons, firearms for long-range shots, and even improvised weapons when you're in a pinch. Or, if the pacifist route is your favorite, you can also use stealth to dodge Freakers and other people. Hostile uninfected humans include cultists called Rippers, and there are various militias and government agencies to turn to for a friendly face.
Deacon's best mode of travel is his motorcycle, and it's much more than just his means of transport. The vehicle contains much of his inventory and also allows for fast travel, without which the game progresses at a very slow pace.
The game has a dynamic day and night system that is very important for your progress and success, as Freakers are slow and weak during the day, but terrifyingly fast and strong at night. Seriously, they are not creatures you want to encounter in a dark alley with low fuel and ammo.
